The Windows XP Service Pack 3 will be released to the public tomorrow. I typed video into google today.

First of all I want to point out that Google does not include YOUTUBE.com as an entry on this page. Insead it makes video.google.com which includes youtube.com as well.

And in the top 5 SERPs google included 2 videos.

Web 2.0 ... The Machine is Us/ing Us



(I really like this one... it also ranks for web 20)

And

Vote Different



What these two videos have in common is that they both have the over 5 million views on them. Both of these videos do not have the word video in the title of the video or in the tags.

Also note that google does now show the standard "Cached - Similar pages - Note this" on these results as they would on the regular results.

Here are the top ten videos on youtube with the views and ratings... If you look closely at these videos you will see the reason why they are on top. Look at the type of video then look at the ratings and views etc.

Videos that are music videos will always graze the top because everyone looks for celebrities... The ones that stick out are the viral ones like the evolution of dance and hahaha.

Also note that none of these include the top youtubers like lonely girl etc.

I suspect that things will change once google starts trusting social media more. Remember these top ten and look how they change in a few month as the algorithm changes.
